Doug brings over 20 years of experience to the firm and has an extensive background in tax planning and compliance for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and estates and trusts. 
                                                                                                     
A member of the firm’s Tax and Wealth Advisory Group, Doug is knowledgeable in all tax aspects of corporate and commercial transactions, including corporate reorganization, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, deferred compensation, and cross border transactions.

Doug’s industry experience includes wholesale distribution, food processing, manufacturing, marinas, professional service firms, investment partnerships and general businesses of all sorts.  Doug’s vast experience in tax, accounting and management services enable him to assist clients with their business planning, tax planning, and management service decisions.

Doug started his accounting career at Deloitte & Touche, where he focused on high net worth individuals and their closely-held businesses.  Prior to joining DZH Phillips, Doug was a Tax Manager at one of the predecessor firms, Smith, Lange & Phillips. 

Education

Doug received his undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and graduated with a Master’s in Accounting from Golden Gate University.
