Georgia Petrakos is a senior audit manager with DZH Phillips. With more than 20 years of professional experience in public accounting, Ms. Petrakos is well qualified to provide a full range of audit, review, compilation, international tax reporting and consulting services to corporations, partnerships and individuals.
Georgia has acquired in-depth experience with auditing hedge funds, investment partnership tax returns, export/import companies, overseas shipping, wholesale distributors and other closely held companies.
She is an expert in performance verifications in accordance with the standards promulgated by the CFA Institute (formerly known as AIMR), as well as in the audit of broker/dealers. Georgia is a member of the firm’s quality control team and participates in quality control over financial statement engagements.
Georgia began her career at the national firm of Spicer and Oppenheim, a firm specializing in hedge funds. After gaining extensive experience in the investment industry and hedge fund accounting and auditing, Georgia joined the firm of Wilson, McCall & Daoro as a senior auditor. She later accepted a position as an audit manager with Daoro Zydel & Holland, which later merged with Smith, Lange & Phillips. Georgia continues her role as a senior audit manager with the newly formed firm, DZH Phillips, specializing in the investment industry.

Georgia is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, the FSC/DISC Tax Association, Inc., and the CFA Institute (formerly known as AIMR). She actively participates in industry seminars and presents accounting and auditing seminars for our professional staff.
Education
Georgia obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from San Francisco State University.
