Scott Smith is a Senior Accounting and Audit Services Manager at DZH Phillips. He has over fifteen years of public accounting experience providing a full range of audit, review and compilation services to clients primarily in the nonprofit and affordable housing industries.
Scott has worked closely with both small and large nonprofit affordable housing development companies and affiliated and non-affiliated management firms and their investors to provide audit and tax services. He provids expertise in performing cost certifications of low-income housing tax credit and HUD development projects. Scott's services include audits performed in accordance with governmental auditing standards and OMB circular A-133, in addition to the reporting requirements of the USDA, HCD and CalHFA.
Scott began his professional career with Moss Adams LLP in San Francisco. Scott subsequently joined the firm of Wilson, McCall & Daoro, the predecessor firm to Daoro Zydel & Holland,, where he provided accounting services to a variety of clients in the real estate partnership and retail service industries. When DZH merged with the Bay Area firm, Smith, Lange & Phillips, Scott continued in his role as a senior manager with the newly formed firm, DZH Phillips.
