Shan L. Hou is a Senior Tax Manager with DZH Phillips LLP.  She has over 10 years of public accounting experience, specializing in federal tax compliance and planning for consolidated C corporations, multi-state corporations, S-corporations, partnerships, closely held business, individuals, and tax exempt entities.

Shan brings a wide array of industry experience including manufacturing, real estate, not-for-profit, investment partnership, pharmaceutical, maritime and consumer products. Her focus is to assist and develop tax strategies for her clients to mitigate tax liabilities and to reduce exposure on issues commonly challenged by tax authorities.

Shan started her public accounting career with Arthur Andersen. She subsequently joined the federal tax practice group with KPMG in the San Francisco and St. Louis offices before joining Daoro Zydel & Holland.  When DZH merged with Smith, Lange & Phillips, Shan continued her role as a senior tax manager with the newly formed firm, DZH Phillips.

Education

Shan obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin and her Master of Accountancy from Texas State University.
