Bio

Barbara is a partner at DZH Phillips LLP. She has 34 years of extensive experience providing tax and accounting services to individuals, as well as partnerships, trusts and other business entities. The services she provides to her clients include compiled and reviewed financial statements, personal and business tax planning and tax compliance. She is particularly knowledgeable with accounting aspects of professional firms, particularly law firms, and has spent years helping professional service firm clients within their respective industries, including high-net-worth individuals, law firms and their partners and closely held entrepreneurial companies.

Barbara started her career as a senior auditor with a national firm. She then became a manager at Wilson, McCall & Daoro, and later one of the partners of Daoro Zydel & Holland, one of San Francisco’s leading local CPA firms. When DZH merged with Smith, Lange & Phillips LLP, and Barbara became one of the partners in the newly formed firm, DZH Phillips. Barbara received her Bachelor of Science in accounting from California State University at Hayward and her Master of Science in taxation from Golden Gate University. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (Cal CPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Throughout the year, Barbara works closely with her clients to find solutions to accounting and tax issues as they arise and to ease the burdens of tax and financial statement compliance in a timely and efficient manner. She is responsible, responsive, careful, competent and empathetic to clients’ needs, resulting in long lasting relationships with her clients. She feels fortunate to be able to keep in close contact with her family as well, with three grandchildren nearby, who she sees most weekends.
