Bio

Deborah specializes in nonprofit taxation and trusts. For over 20 years, her professional focus has been on tax compliance and planning for exempt organizations. She has deep experience in the areas of taxation of non-traditional investments, functional expense allocations, grant-making requirements and executive compensation issues.

Deborah is an Enrolled Agent with a BA from the University of Nevada, Reno, and MS from the University of Alabama. She is a member of the California Society of Enrolled Agents, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA), which she also serves on the annual Not-for-Profit Accounting Conference planning committee.

Deborah’s extensive experience greatly benefits her clients, which include private foundations, public charities, social welfare and employment benefit organizations. She possesses strong pragmatism and problem solving skills, stays up-to-date on the relevant tax matters, explains complex financial and tax concepts, clearly and understandably, and remains dedicated to her clients’ success.

In her spare time, Deborah serves as a Red Cross volunteer and is also currently Treasurer for the board of the Ann Martin Center. Deborah enjoys traveling, cycling, gourmet cooking and dabbling in craft projects. She also has a witty sense of humor.
