With over 30 years of experience in startup and not-for-profit sectors, Tom builds on DZH Phillips’ expertise as director of the Outsourced Accounting and CFO Advisory group. This division provides outsourced controllers and bookkeeping, audit preparation, accounting IT, CFO advisory and family office services. As an entrepreneur and CPA, Tom specializes in financial concerns particular to business owners, including bank relationships, starting a company, financial reporting, risk management, HR development, and account processing.

Before joining DZH Phillips, Tom graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, and began his professional career with Pricewaterhouse Coopers in 1983. Since then he has served as an interim CFO for several companies and founded Bravosoft, an accounting and business processing software company based in the Bay Area. Tom is CFO and board member of Destination: Hope International Medical Missions. Tom is affiliated with the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (Cal CPA). He is a former board member of Aurora School in Oakland and currently serves on the board of Lillian Cox Haven of Hope, which provides business advice to people with limited resources.

Tom’s ideal clients include nonprofit organizations, high-net-worth families, and small to medium businesses, and he strives to help clients build a team that enables professional growth. Tom devotes his free time to volunteering with organizations that help those in need, teaching accounting part time at Presidio MBA, playing competitive tennis, and traveling the globe with his family.
